In honour of Women’s History Month this March and International Women’s Day this Friday 8th, we are hosting three events this week that I hope you will join us for. All are free and all are welcome.

Monday, 4th March  6pm-7.30pm

Screening of ‘Lady of No Fear’

Room 109, 30 Russell Square

Co-organized with Birkbeck’s Amnesty International Society.

This 2010 documentary offers an in-depth portrait of Burmese democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi. A tribute to an inspiring leader whose commitment to non-violent resistance has remained unwavering, despite many personal sacrifices.

Women in Enterprise

Co-organized by the SU Enterprise Network

We will be joined by Amanda Jones, social entrepreneur and winner of a Cosmopolitan magazine ‘Woman of the Year’ award and

Jessica Rose, Birkbeck Student, winner of NatWest everywoman Awards 2012 and director of Europe’s largest Jewellery training centre.

Followed by Q&A and semi-structured networking over wine and nibbles.

Lastly, for those joining us on our Feminist Walking Tour of Bloomsbury, Sunday March 17th, below are the list of places we need speakers for! If you’re able to talk about one of the following statues, houses or squares, please let me know. This will be an informal, fun tour, and you need only speak for as long as you’re comfortable. All are welcome, it’s easily accessible and free!
